Bend FC Timbers Chooses Trace to Strengthen Club Recruiting Resources

BEND, OR + AUSTIN, TX (May 28, 2021) – Bend FC Timbers (BFCT) and Trace Soccer have entered a 2-year partnership to outfit all U13-U18 teams with Trace’s game film system. With Trace, teams will be able to automatically film matches and scrimmages, create Trace iD recruiting profiles for each player, and receive educational content for both players and coaches from Trace’s on-staff experts.

Soccer game film systems have become table stakes for top soccer clubs across the country. Clubs see the tremendous value in using game film to accelerate player development and provide an invaluable resource for athletes that want to play college soccer. Bend FC Timbers is no exception.

“I am excited because Trace will allow our players to view their games, learn from both their great plays and their mistakes, and take ownership of their tactical development.”

John O’Sullivan, Director of Coach Development at Bend FC Timbers

Bend FC Timbers is the largest youth soccer organization in Central Oregon and are proud partners of the Portland Timbers. BFCT provides an unrivaled soccer experience for the players of Central Oregon by encouraging development on and off the field. They recognize the priority of team sportsmanship and respect, while supporting responsible athletes and community members.

Through partnering with Trace, Bend FC Timbers will be equipped with the most advanced technology for game film analysis to give players and coaches the tools to improve more rapidly.

“I love the idea of kids being able to watch and learn from their own plays, and there is no single system that I have seen or ever worked with that allows this to happen so easily. I am excited to help kids learn while using such a simple tool!”

Tara Bilanski, Executive Director at Bend FC Timbers

As video becomes more crucial than ever for player development and recruiting, Bend FC Timbers is committed to providing it’s teams with new and innovative ways to reach college coaches. Trace iD, Trace’s own recruiting platform, allows players to create the ultimate highlight reel and take control of their own recruiting process. Players simply select their best match moments, add them to their Trace iD, and seamlessly share the playlist link with college coaches across the country.

“We’re excited to partner with Bend FC Timbers. Video analysis is quickly becoming an invaluable tool that clubs need to invest in to stay ahead of the curve, and BFCT is a front-runner in realizing the value a solution like Trace brings to their club.”

– David Lokshin, Founder and CEO of Trace

By collaborating with Trace, Bend FC Timbers now has the tools to foster development for both players and coaches, increases player retention within the club and provides additional exposure to recruiting-age players, all under one platform.

Bend FC Timbers joins over 80 other clubs and organizations that have partnered with Trace for large-scale adoption within their organization.
